Additional Information. I think the saddest memory I have of the school was my leaving the school. I remember walking round the school hand in hand with my friend Elsie Bedford to say goodbye to the teachers with tears streaming from our eyes.

I also have some happy memories - dancing round the maypole, playing netball for the school, etc.

This was not to be my last connection with the school because when my children were attending St. Johns, I was asked to serve on the P.T.A. This invitation I accepted with the greatest pleasure. Later I was secretary & what fun & joy it was working with such a wonderful band of mothers, organising jumble sales & fetes, etc., to raise money for the school. But the greatest pleasure I had was

when we had raised enough money to provide St. Johns with their swimming pool.
