Research Note by Laurence Rostron. Grace Cottage - previously Gracefield Cottage - it was built in the period 1877-80 and was the gardeners cottage for Gracefield until 1949 when the estate was divided up and sold and Grace Cottage became an independent owner/occupied property. It is thought to have been extended in the 1930's and again, significantly, in 1969.
Research Note by Laurence Rostron. Lane Farm appears to have ceased to be a working farm in 1954, when it was sold as three lots. Since then the house & outbuildings have been an owner/occupier residential property.
Research Note by Laurence Rostron. Well Cottage - previously White Gates - in 1955 the three Well Cottages were purchased and converted into one cottage named White Close. After being purchased again in 1971 the property was renamed Well Cottage
Research Note by Laurence Rostron. Nancy Hawes died in 1956. Home Sweet Home was purchased by Ted Saunders, demolished and replaced by a bungalow which he called Black Firs. After his death, his family demolished the bungalow and in 1997 they built the existing house.
