John William known as 'Johnnie' Saunders and Elizabeth Daisy Dell, known as 'Daisy' were both from long established families in Lacey Green.
John William 'Johnnie' Saunders born 1876 was the son of George & Sarah Saunders .
Elizabeth Daisy Dell, born 1876 was the daughter of Jabez & Sarah Jane Dell
Johnnie and Daisy married in 1896. They lived at Fern Cottage, Main Road, Lacey Green
Johnnie was a carpenter and builder. Later he was also the landlord of the Public House The Black Horse, the tenancy of which he inherited from Ann Ginger, his aunt. He was a Manager of Lacey Green School and a member of Wycombe Rural District Council.
Johnnie and Daisy had 4 children as follows :-
William John Saunders born 1897 married Florence Bertha Smith in 1920. See William John & Florence Saunders
Frederick Saunders born 1899. Frederick Ralph died 26th October 1917 aged 19. He was a private in the Royal Marine Light Infantry, 2nd R M Battalion.
