Cairndale is a house on the west side of Lacey Green Main Road. It is one of the houses built in the 1900's between the two entrances to Church Lane.

The map below that shows the changes made in 1823 when the Enclosures of Princes Risborough took place. The area coloured pale orange denotes Stocken Farm
In 1823 the land on which Cairndale was built was allocated to Stocken Farm, then owned by Lord George Henry Cavendish and let to Ann Dell (click Thomas Dell snr & Ann Dell)
However a road was to be constructed cutting through this area which was to become Main Road, Lacey Green

In 1960 Air Vice Marshall William Cannon and his wife were already living in Cairndale after his retirement from the RAF and following position as representative of Rolls Royce in India and Pakistan. The house 'Cairndale' was built about 1939 on the west side of the Main Road, Lacey Green and was used for RAF personnel until 1965.
In 1965 Derek & Ursula Glyn Jones purchased Cairndale. click 1965 The Glyn-Jones' buy "Cairndale"
Ursula Glyn Jones said "We knew our house had always been occupied by RAF people and that we were the first civilians. Dick& Hilda West from Stocken Farm, opposite, were friends with Air-Vice-Marshall Cannon and his wife, who had lived in the house and through his connections with India and Pakistan they had had Indira Ghandi to stay with them – in our house! There was a bell indicator board in the kitchen, with bells in every room, which we soon got rid of – too tempting for the children. Hilda said that they called it their "Dolls House" - tiny in comparison with theirs in India no doubt.
