A Foundation stone states that the cottages were built in 1869.

Belle Vue Cottages were built in 1869 by Rebecca nee Carter Dell & Uriah Dell. The stone on it states "This stone was laid by Laura Dell Sept 1869" Laura was their 4 year old daughter. The land on which they were built was owned in 1823 freehold by John Carter Dell, Rebecca's father.

The cottages belonged to Rebecca. In 1823 the land on which they were built had belonged freehold to her father John Carter Dell.
