Charles Edmund Rubbra was born 23rd May 1901. He died 14th February 1986.

1939 Registration (war census) Valley Cottage, Highwood Bottom, Lacey Green 39 musician, composer, and pianist, Antoinette Rubbra 39 musician and pianist (although their son Benedict said she was a violinist).

Edmund wrote "Ode to Joy" for the coronation service of Queen Elizabeth II.
