Robert Oakford was born 1853 in Horsham. Sussex

Sarah Fox born 1868 was the daughter of Thomas & Lydia Fox of Princes Risborough.

1939 Register (Census). Vine Cottage. Sarah Oakford 70 widow, George Oakford 33 railway platelayer, Leonard Oakford 31 tree feller, Hilda Quinton 37, 2 absent for war.

Robert and Sarah had 9 children, who were all born in the parish of Princes Risborough, as follows :-

William Robert Oakford born August 1897 married Ethel Matilda Legg at Reigate, Surrey on 14th October 1926. Fought in WW1 from October 1915 then back in Loosley Row. In 1939 Register (census) William and Ethel living at Redland End

Isabella L Oakford born 1899 married Albert F Clifford in October 1925. See Albert & Isabella Clifford

Thomas John Oakford born 1900 married Rosa Stevens, widow of Frederick Stevens, in April 1926. See Thomas & Rosa Oakford

Clara Fanny Oakford born 1902 married Arthur James Shearman in September 1926. They lived in High Wycombe

Margaret Sophia Oakford born 1904. In 1939 she was in Bucks Mental Hospital. She died in 1963, single.

George Oakford born 1906 married Ada Minnie Sarah Worsfold in 1944. George enjoyed sport. click George & Ada Oakford. George died in 1956. Research note. Ada remarried and moved away.

Fred Oakford born 1908 (twin with Len) married Mary A Tapping in 1948

In 1939 Register (census) Fred living at Lea View, Loosley Hill with his sister Isabella Clifford and family. (click Albert & Isabella Clifford for more).

Leonard Oakford born 1908 twin with Fred) married Edith M Adams in 1949. Leonard died at Iron Beech Cottage, Lily Bottom. Speen, in March 1987 Probate under £40,000
