The house Byways was built on the corner of Goodacres Lane and the Main Road, Lacey Green, facing Goodacres Lane

In 1977 it was rented by Air Commodore Robert "Bob" and Jackie Barcelon, with daughters, Nicola and Ray Louise, rented ‘Byways’ Goodacres Lane, Lacey Green.   Later purchasing ‘Windyridge’, Main Road, Lacey Green. click RAF Local Residents for Bob's RAF Career.

In the 1970s it was the home of John & Jill Munday. It was John who initiated the formation of the Cubs & Scouts in Lacey Green and Loosley Row.
