C. 1920 – 26.   Idle Corner Tenant. William John Saunders, 23, Flo Saunders, Edward ‘Ted’, born 1921, Millicent and Maurice ‘Mosh’, twins, born 1923.   Mosh knew Idle Corner as the ‘Black Horse Yard.’

The twins Maurice (Mosh and Millicent)

John William's son, William John Saunders and his wife Flo. were living in a tiny cottage at Idle Corner.   They had 1 son, Ted, and were expecting twins and needing more room, so John bought the old Reading Room for them.   He extended it one end, making it 3 rooms with a narrow kitchen at the back.

December 1980. Death of Florence Saunders. Reported in Hallmark by the 81st Club, "We are sorry to record the death of Mrs F Saunders at the home of her son Maurice. She had been a member for some time and always looked forward to it with Pleasure.

Mosh spoke of the bungalow opening straight onto the track, which was the Main Road of Lacey Green, virtually unused by traffic, his feet in the road.

Their son Maurice born in 1923, wrote about times that he and his twin sister Millicent spent with their grandfather Owen and the bodgers in Hampden Woods entitled "Children in a Bodgers' World".
