June 15th 1934. Auction by direction of the Executors of the late Mr William Saunders of Stocken Farm.

1934 Conveyance. Ernest Smith, son in law of William Saunders, purchased Stocken Farm for £3,225.   It still included the large Field called Hillocks, but the smaller field to the north of Goodacres Lane was sold off separately.  (Purchased by George Hawes of Woodbyne Farm). research note. Stocken Farm was let to Dick & Hilda West.

1937 Ernest Smith, the owner of Stocken Farm (tenants Dick & Hilda West) built Coronation Cottage no 1 and Coronation Cottage no 2 for farm workers in 1937, the coronation year. They were semi-detached on the south side of Kiln Lane.

5th April 1945 Ernest Smith of Stoneycroft, Walters Ash purchased Promised Land Farm from the executors of Joseph Tyler for £8750.

25th May 1947 Conveyance

The executors of Sidney Tyler of Collins Farm, farmer and timber merchant Conveyed to Ernest Smith of Stoneycroft, Walters Ash :-

Schedule Collins Farm. All that land, ordinance 1921 no.185, 212, 210, 213 (house), 214, 226, 222, 242, 163, part 250. also to E Smith part of farm 6.272 acres, and part of the farm 1 acre.

31st July 1947 Ernest Smith sold Promised Land Farm to Olive Hunt of Beaconsfield

1948 Ernest Smith, the landlord, offered Stocken Farm, now 190 acres, including ‘Hillocks’ to Dick & Hilda West.   They were encouraged to buy, by Harry Floyd, who was the grandson of William Saunders & Bethia Janes and been brought up in the house.   He had his own Floyds Farm but had been lodging with Dick and Hilda.   He lent them money, telling them it was an opportunity they must not miss.

4th August 1948. Conveyance Ernest Smith sold to Richard Howard Isdell Carpenter and Rosemary Isdell Carpenter, much of Collins Farm, ord. nos 210, 242, 262, part 250, 222, 226, 227, 213, 214, 212

1964 Conveyance

Ernest Smith sold to Edward, known as Ted Smith, part ord. no. 242, lying immediately to the rear of house known as Clappins

June 1974. The Executors of Ernest Smith, who died 4th October 1971 at Pound Farm, Saunderton, conveyed ord no 242, land fronting to Lower Road, Loosley Row, to Sidney Dennis Fountain and Lynda Winifred Fountain

Also land, part ord. no. 166 of .070 acres with cottages thereon known as "Old Forge Cottage", "West Cottage" and "Puxtons Cottage"

Also land ord no.224, .248 acres with cottage thereon known as "Bennets Cottage
