The Small House was in Lower Road, Loosley Row.

The Post Office in LOwer Road had a telephone, a rare thing just after WW2.   Opposite, in the Small House lived Dr Ucko.   His practice was in London.   His patients would ring the postmaster, Henry Allen, who would signal to Dr Ucko by hanging a red handkerchief out of the bedroom window.

Reg Hickman was born in the Small House in
