John Floyd born 1820 was the son of Joseph Floyd and Jane, nee Tyler. Joseph & Jane Floyd
Mary Ann Cook born 1815 came to Lacey Green in service at Grymsdyke, from Thorncombe on the Devon/Dorset border.
John and Mary Ann married in 1843
They had 5 children as follows :-
Jane Floyd born 1843
Mary Ann Floyd born 1845
Albert Joseph Floyd born 1847
Elizabeth Amelia Floyd born 1848, died 1849.
Robert Floyd baptised 8th September 1849 - buried 3rd March 1851. (before the 1851 census was taken)
1851 Census John is an agricultural labourer and Mary Ann is a schoolmistress. They and their family lived at no 2 Portobello Cottages
Mary Ann Floyd died in 1852. (said to be of pneumonia)
In 1865 John 2nd marriage was to Sarah Cheshire, the daughter of John Cheshire, the miller. Click John & Sarah Floyd
