John Floyd born 1820 was the son of Joseph Floyd and Jane, nee Tyler. Joseph & Jane Floyd
Mary Ann Cook born 1815 came to Lacey Green in service at Grymsdyke, from Thorncombe on the Devon/Dorset border.
John and Mary Ann married in 1843
They had 5 children as follows :-

Mary Ann Floyd born 1845
Albert Joseph Floyd born 1847 married Julia Plumridge in 1872. click Albert & Julia Floyd for their life story
Elizabeth Amelia Floyd born 1848, died 1849.
Robert Floyd baptised 8th September 1849 - buried 3rd March 1851. (before the 1851 census was taken)
1851 Census John is an agricultural labourer and Mary Ann is a schoolmistress. They and their family lived at Portobello Cottage no 2.
Mary Ann Floyd died in 1852. (said to be of pneumonia)
In 1865 John 2nd marriage was to Sarah Cheshire, the daughter of John Cheshire, the miller. Click John Floyd & Sarah nee Cheshire
