George Cheshire was the son of

Sarah Steel was the daughter of John & Hannah Steel

George and Sarah had 4 girls and 4 boys.

Annie Elizabeth Cheshire born 1866. She remained single. She died in 1945 aged 89. She left £670, her executors being Margaret Millward and Dorothy Witcher

John Steel Cheshire born 1868, died aged 9 month.

Susan Cheshire born 1869, married Jabez Smith. In 1911 they were living at the Whip.

Sydney “John” Cheshire 1871, married Jessie Attwell in 1901 lived at the Windmill, died 1951 aged 80, leaving £502-6s-11d, his executors being Alfred and Dorothy Witcher.

Walter Cheshire born 1873, was a jobbing gardener, he moved to Bushey.

George Cheshire born1875. – no information.

Lucy Cheshire born 1878. She died 1916.

Margaret Cheshire born 1880, married William H Millward in 1926

Sydney 'John' Cheshire born 1904 married Jessie Attwell in 1901.

Dorothy Lucy Cheshire, born 1904, the only child of Sydney “John” and Jessie. Her mother died when Dorothy was 3 years old. She then lived with her aunt Margaret at Windmill Farm. Dorothy married in 1932 to Alfred C Witcher. They lived in Princes Risborough.

MARGARET CHESHIRE INHERITS WINDMILL FARM

Margaret born in 1880, inherited Windmill Farm and the Windmill from her father, retired miller, in 1923.

WINDMILL SAILS STOP TURNING

When George Cheshire died in 1923, the windmill ceased to be worked.
