In the 1901 census Horace and Mary are still living at Coombs. Horace Janes 40 roadman, Mary Janes 38, John Janes 16 carter on farm, Rosa Janes 10, Alfred Janes 7, Edith Kate Janes 4.

Next door in 1901 Maria Janes 53 single was living with her daughter Laura Janes 28 single.
