Joseph Hawes born 1808 was the son of John & Hannah Hawes

Jane Saunders born 1808 was the daughter of ?

Joseph Hawes married twice. 1st marriage Mary in 1829. Mary died in 1830. 2nd marriage to Jane Saunders in 1832.

Joseph and Jane had 6 children as follows :-

Emma Hawes born 1833, died 1854 aged 21

Jabez Hawes born 1835 married Susannah Ginger in 1853

John Hawes born 1837 married Sarah Biggs in 1859. click John & Sarah Hawes for their life story

Dan Hawes born 1839 married Sarah Harding in 1865

Bethsheba Hawes born 1841, died 1861 aged 19

Sarah Jane Hawes born 1843

Census 1841, 1851, and 1861 the Hawes family are living at Ye Olde Cottage, behind The Black Horse, Joseph recorded as a sawyer.

Census 1871 at Ye Olde Cottage but Joseph recorded as a farmer of 18 acres.

Census 1881 at Ye Olde Cottage Sarah, widow with son John, farmer of 18 acres.
