Mary Ann Cook born 1815 came to Lacey Green in service at Grymsdyke, from Thorncombe on the Devon/Dorset border.

John and Mary Ann married in 1843

They had 5 children as follows :-

Jane Floyd born 1843

Mary Ann Floyd born 1845

Albert Joseph Floyd born 1847

Elizabeth Amelia Floyd born 1848, died 1849.

Robert Floyd baptised 8th September 1849 - buried 3rd March 1851. (before the 1851 census was taken)

In 1851 John and Mary Ann lived at no 2 Portobello Cottages.

Mary Ann died in 1852.   (said to be of pneumonia)
