Three Cottages Erected About 1759.

The house called Wimble End for many years was three attached cottages, to find the cottage in the middle of the three click Wimble End Cottage No 2

History Known

John Redrup of Great Hampden purchased two of the freehold cottages. In 1823. The Enclosures of Princes Risborough, Cottage no 3 was listed as belonging to William Stone.

Mortgages

John Redrup took out the following mortgages for the cottages. In 1821 with George Lintell. in 1823 with John Carter Dell. John Carter Dell was the mortgagee in 1823 at the time of the Enclosures of Princes Risborough, he is listed as the owner(mortgagee) of Allotment no 697a Smithy adjoining Wimble End Cottages, also 699, the three cottages with a garden and orchard. In 1830 the mortgages were taken over by again by George Lintell, (possibly George Lintell Jnr).

15th February 1850. On the death of George Lintell, mortgagee, his executors foreclosed on the mortgages and the cottages were put up for sale by John Redrup.

Date not confirmed. Conveyance. The Executors of John Paine sold cottages nos. 2 and 3 to Sarah West

Cottage no. 3 south.   Sarah West 67 widow lacemaker.

CENSUS 1901

Cottage no. 3 south.   Sarah West 76 widow living on her own means.

9th December 1901. Conveyance. The Reverend William Robson purchased from Sarah West cottages Nos 2 & 3.

The Reverend William Robson now owned all three cottages and now made them into one house, naming it “Wimblehurst”. It was later called 'Wimble End'.
