Edward Stone, son of Edward and Sybbeth M Elizabeth ?

Edward Stone, son of Edward and Elizabeth died in 1741. He had been married twice. 1st marriage 1771 to Elizabeth Reynolds (died 1772/3) of The Place, Monks Risborough. 2nd marriage to Elizabeth Grubb, daughter of John Grubb of Horsenden

Reverend Edward Stone, known as Edward Stone (The Aspirin Man), son of Edward and Elizabeth Reynolds, was born at Grymsdyke in 1702. He died at Horsenden in 1768. In 1720 he went to Wadham College, Oxford, becoming a fellow in 1730. He married in 1741 Elizabeth Grubb. In 1763 he wrote a letter to The Royal Society having observed the medicinal effect of willow bark. He had discovered salicylic acid - the main ingredient of aspirin. He had held a number of curacies around Chipping Norton, where there is a Blue Plaque to him.

He leased from the Manor of Princes Risborough the close 'Wades Grove', 8 acres, and also 2 closes, 'Lower Close', arable land, adjoining Smallridge Wood, 2 acres, and 'Crooks' 5 acres . He left these to his son Edward.

Reverend Edward Stone, son of the Reverend Edward and Elizabeth, born 1743, died 1811, married in 1764 Sarah Witts of Oxon (1745-1834). He was rector of Hartwell from 1783 to 1793. .He was for 42 years rector of Horsenden. He was said to be "an amiable character beloved by all who knew him". He left Wades Grove, Lower Close and Crooks to his daughter Sarah.

Sarah Lillie Stone, daughter of the Reverend Edward and Elizabeth, born at Chipping Norton in 1770, married at Bradenham in 1787 Charles Shard Esq of Lovell House, Winkfield, Berks (1768- 1832). They had 2 children, Charles born 1791 at Winkfield, Berks, and Sarah born 1793 at Sunningdale, Berks
