Alice May Stone born in Loosley Row in 1890 was the daughter of Boaz & Mary Ann Stone
Rupert and Alice married in 1921.
Rupert and Alice had no children.
1939 Register (census) at The Elms, Loosley Row. Rupert Gomme 44 steel riveter, Alice M Gomme 49, James M Heron 84 retired journalist, Minnie Heron. Researcher's note. The Elms is half of a semi-detached pair of cottages, the other half is called Keap Cottage. In the 1939 Register the next cottage to The Elms is recorded as Keap Cottage where Albert and Fanny Kirby lived. Alice Gomme and Fanny Kirby were sisters.
Rupert Gomme died in 1969.
Alice Gomme died in 1985. Alice left The Elms to her great nephew Brian Kirby. (Brian & Pauline Kirby)
Death of Alice Gomme announced in Hallmark. "Mrs A Gomme died on Thursday 28th February 1985 aged 95 years. She was a founder member of The 81st Club. Our sympathy goes to all her relations.
