"Started 1944. Left 1954 aged 15. The headmistress was Mrs Gurney. Other teachers were Miss Janes and Miss Jarvis. The Reverend Stewart was the vicar. Subjects were 3 R's, painting and raffia work. Toilets were outside. Went home for lunch. Had milk at break. Played football, cricket and rounders. My father Arthur Williams had been at the school."
