On 31st July 1937 Mr and Mrs Arthur Williams moved into Ye Olde Cottage -- the day they were married.

This cottage had no cellar, no mains water and no electricity until about 1946/7. Water was drawn from a tank outside.

The rent was paid to Miss Emma Hawes who was apparently looking after the property for a friend who had gone to Australia.

My parents and myself moved into Lime Tree Cottage no 2 in Kiln Lane about 1955/6. no 2 Lime Tree Cottage was owned by George & Elsie Toms who lived in Lime Tree Cottage no 1. Both cottages had main water and electricity and an outside flush toilet. Of course there were no main drains in Lacey Green at that time. No telephone was ever connected in our time there.

I moved out in 1963 when I married Daphne Boorman.

My parents, moved to Greenlands in about 1973.

1978 Lillian Williams reported to Hallmark for The 81st Club.
