In the 1960's a new bungalow in Church Lane, Lacey Green, called Black Firs replaced a bungalow called 'Home Sweet Home'. click Home Sweet Home for the history of the old home.

Research Note by Laurence Rostron. Nancy Hawes died in 1956. Home Sweet Home was purchased by Ted Saunders, demolished and replaced by a bungalow which he called Black Firs. After his death, his family demolished the bungalow and in 1997 they built the existing house. (click Ted & Ann Saunders for more about Ted)
