The residents of Kiln Lane and Hets Orchard got together at Rosemary's house beside the pond. Gazebos had been built, chairs and trestle tables borrowed. Then just s we needed it, the sun came out.

Everybody had been generous with the food they brought, there were tons; and John Gabbitas did a splendid job keeping the Pimms flowing. After lunch, half a dozen houses opened their gardens for leisurely visits to help the jubilee trifle to go down.

After this it was back to Rosemary's for cakes and fizz whilst the Mole family led the way with music and communal singing.
