Ted Janes, editor, wrote "Many people were more closely associated with Pete Phillibrown and better able than I to write these few lines, for instance colleagues of Pete's through his passion for bowling. He was a very private person, not excessively involved in the village affairs, but always ready to help when requested. I like to remember Pete always responding when asked to help on Fete days.
