The St John's Choir and Orchestra presented a musical evening at the Village Hall on March 26th. Under their conductor Mr McBurnie, the children must be congratulated on the standard they achieved.

Among the programme were such items as 'Rooster Rag' by the choir, 'The Entertainer', ;Eleanor Rigby', and 'Match of the Day' from the band and Orchestra, with solo items by Emma Ferguson, Jason Hayes, Catherine Shiu and Katy Teare. Mrs Stansfield was the Accompanist, and the children were stage managed and controlled by Mr Caudrey and Mrs Holt.

I was a little disappointed that there were not more people present who had no connection with the school, but that was their loss, and perhaps another time more might realise what they missed.

Nevertheless £117 profit was made towards Village Hall funds, and our thanks go to Mr Anthony, the school staff, the children and parents.
