From Lacey Green History
The Local History Group was formed in 2008
Meeting at Pondside, Kiln Lane, the founder members of the group were as follows :-
History Exhibitions. The Group has managed to put on an exhibition almost every other year. The first as a School Reunion run by Rosemary Mortham just before the Group was started. All subsequent Exhibitions were the work of all members, with some taking a special interest.

Exhibition of Domestic Bygones, mostly Victorian/Edwardian. Collated by Rosemary Mortham and held in the garage at Pondside, Kiln Lane. Lacey Green. The new local history media wiki being developed was also demonstrated.

Celebrating the centenary of the end of WW1. click 1918 School Armistice Celebrations
Celebrating the centenary of the Royal Air Force, formed from the Royal Flying Corps in 1918. Several men who trained in those early days had homes here during WW2, by then high ranking officers. click RAF Local Residents for more details
A full history of each will be given at the exhibition, giving photographs, details of their lifetime careers, their honours and awards, families and their association here with other details such as the planes they flew.

Special emphasis on Bodgers, Brickmaking and Lace Making.

Showing of Video Films of houses in the village with commentary about Lacey Green by Dennis Claydon, Doug Tilbury and Gordon May. Commentary about Loosley Row by Joyce Walker and Rita Probert. These films are on the website.

Exhibition June 2001. General History of the Village. Held in Lacey Green School Hall click 2001 Local History Group Photos
Opened by Connie Baker who arrived in a Rolls Royce. Lunch of Bacon Badger and Baked Apple was served by the W.I. A fashion show of the costume of recent decades was staged by our younger residents. A major event which filled most or the school, was the work of all members.

Exhibition June 2000. School Reunion. Held in the Lacey Green School Hall.
An event to celebrate the Millenium and approximately 150 years of St. John's School. Many photographs were displayed. Also past pupils were invited to fill in a sheet of their memories.
