The Enclosures of the Manor of Princes Risborough took place in 1823 after vigorous campaigning. To obtain this an application had to be made to Parliament in which all the landowners were in favour. The result of enclosing did away with the Manor owned arable lands and The Common grazing. All these were divided and sold.

Originally all land had been owned by the Manor of Princes Risborough and was let to Copyholders.

By 1823 a number of premises had already been enclosed and were Freehold.
