Eric Boorman was born 11 March 1910. He married Jessie Smith, daughter of Owen Smith of 4 Parslows Hillock cottages in 1937 and they moved into a new house on the Pink Road called Alverstoke.
The 1939 register (census), shows Eric C Boorman born 11 March 1910 chairmaker. Jessie E Boorman, born 11 November 1910 housewife. Owen S Smith born 23 January 1877 wood turner.

"It is with great regret that we record the death of Mrs Jessie Boorman on Christmas Day, after 18 distressing months of not even knowing her closest loved ones. She was born in the parish at Parslows Hillock, and like her parents, became a staunch, active member of the Methodist Church. Very interested in all aspects of village life, She was for many years a member of the Women's Institute.
Our sympathy to her husband, Eric and her daughter Daphne."
