Mrs June Wheale was born in Loosley Row and educated at the local school by the same teacher who taught her father. She did various work after leaving school, eventually working in a factory in Lacey Green, which was then Austin Hoys. Married with two sons, she now lives in what was her grandmother's house. June has been a W.I. member for 15 years and before her present office ran the Produce Show for a few years, and has been treasurer. Her main interests are dressmaking, tennis and flower arranging.
