By 1992 the Nursery Class had amalgamated with the Under Fives Club to become Windmills Under-Fives

A group of mothers have got together and are soon to start a nursery class for children aged 4 to 5 years. It will be held every Monday and Tuesday morning with terms coinciding with those at St. John's School.

The nursery is funded entirely by the parents, and a charge of £1.25 per morning session is made to pay for a qualified teacher and the hire of the hall. As this is a new class any donations of books, lego, paper, crayons, etc. will be gratefully received.

We have a few places left for September and would like to know of any children wanting a place then, or to go the waiting list for a later term.

Hallmark February 1985. reported by Pam Thomas. We have completed another successful term with our largest role yet. The parents enjoyed a special concert of carols, followed by mince pies and sherry, and were joined by many members of the 81st Club. Thechildren finished the term with a Party and a surprise visit from Father Chrstmas who brought everyne a present! Allthe helpers would like to thank B Cleaver for his assistance on this occasion.

The Nursery A.G.M, was held at the Village Hall on Monday 19th May. It opened with the Chairman's report by Jill Gosling in which she said the Nursery had a very successful year with plenty of children having their names down for the future.

There was a vote of thanks to our teacher Mrs, James who leaves at the end of the Summer term. A new teacher Mrs. Margaret Brett will be taking over in September, Stella Boll has stood down as our treasurer and we would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all her hard work. Also, standing down was Sandra Read (Secretary) and our thanks to her as well.

The treasurer's report by Stella Boll reported that we had a very healthy balance at the end of our financial year.

Sue Crookes was voted on as the new treasurer, Patience Rowden, secretary and Shield Nixon, publicity, also voted on as members were M. Day, S. Boll, J. Skelding with Pam Thomas as Vice Chairman. It was decided that a donation of £20 be given to the Village Hall Roof Fund.

Hallmark August 1989. reported by Pam Thomas. This group is flourishing under the care and guidance of teacher Jill Whitehead and assistant Patience Bowden. The children are prepared for their start at school. Lots of actvities are explored, in small groups, as pre-school skills are aquired through fun.

Hallmark April 1992. The Windmills Under-Fives, that is the play-school and nursery class now amalgamated, held in the Village Hall each morning during term time. The first village play-group was started by Mrs Diane Bradley about 1965. Also Mothers and Toddlers Club that meets the 1st, 3rd and 4th Thursday afternoons, to enable the small children to meet and play together, and mums to talk about their problems over a cup of tea.
