Sophia Hawes born 1824 was the daughter of John Hawes and his wife

Lot 2. William Floyd (see William and Sophia Floyd) of Lane Farm purchased from John Redrup of Great Hampen, blacksmith: ---

Lot 2. William Floyd of Lane Farm purchased lot 2 from John Redrup of Great Hampden, blacksmith: ---

The north end of the garden of cottage no.1. On this site was a building that had been a blacksmiths shop . William first used this as a barn then made it into a cottage that later became called "Green Hedges". It was opposite Lane Farm in Church Lane, Lacey Green, William and Sophia's home.

William leased the cottage to Joseph & Jane Floyd, his parents.

By 1861 Joseph and Jane Floyd were trading as grocers, renting the cottage owned and built by their son William.

In September 1862 William Floyd took out a mortgage from William and Harriet Day for 'all that cottage with adjoining woodhouse, containing 14 poles' for £40.

In 1868 Sarah Jane Floyd, daughter of Joseph and Jane Floyd and sister of William Floyd married Jabez Dell.

1st October 1869. Conveyance. Jabez Dell, (William's brother-in-law), purchased the above land, cottage and garden from William Floyd, paying off the £40 mortgage, plus £8 interest due and £12 to William Floyd - a total of £60.
