Peter "Baggy" Parslow and Martha, nee Bowler, lived in one of the three cottages which later became one house, called Well Cottage, in Church Lane, Lacey Green. They lived in the one furthest from the lane next to a field.

There was a pond in the field which the children called "Baggy's Pond", "Baggy" being Mr. Parslow's nickname. The children used to go there looking for newts. See 1900 Tragedy by Drowning.
