Before it was known as Woodway Farm the land laying within the bend of the lane known as Woodway was rented from the Manor by ? Bearfoot. He had a cottage there and had been allotted extra land nearby when a strip he had in the Common Fields was lost in the Enclosures of Princes Risborough in 1823.

Edward Anderson born 1795 and Mary Ward born 1791 lived at Darvills Hill Farm. See Edward Anderson & Mary,nee Ward

11th June 1824 (taken from the deeds of Darvills Hill Farm) Edward leased from the Manor, ground called 'Collins' 1 acre, at Loosley Row.

Woodway Cottage

11th June 1824. Edward Anderson of Darvills Hill, baker, leased from the Manor ground called "Collins" at Loosley Row of 1 acre, previously Thomas Barefoot's cottage with meadow/orchard of 2 acres and 3 closes of arable of 8 acres called Great Anthony. Little Anthony and Lower Baggs, now 1 close with 2 cottages on it built by Thomas Barefoot on Upper Woodway, Loosley Row in which Thomas Barefoot the younger and William Adams had dwelt. Also allotment in Middle Field of 2 roods, 13 poles.

Eli Dormer started as a sawyer, but by 1891 he was the licensee of a public house on Upper Woodway, Loosley Row. by in the census of 1911, Eli was lodging with Edwin & Clara Rixon, his daughter and son-in-law.
