When I came to Lacey Green School in 1958 Miss Jarvis was within two years of retirement.  She was sent to the school on November 1st 1927 to take the infants class while their teacher, Miss Goss, was away and left thirty three years later.  It was quickly apparent to me that here was someone of exceptional character.  Her kindness, consideration and above all a high sense of duty were a great support to me in my first year.  The standards both given and expected were reflected in the attitude of the children

Her concern for them went beyond duty and her passing will be a matter of sorrow to all those who knew her.  On her retirement she went to live with her sister near Swansea and there too she gathered a host of friends who cared for them both.  {{Social Snapshot

When I came to Lacey Green School in 1958 Miss Jarvis was within two years of retirement.
