William Ralph Gomme was the son of John Gomme, engineer and iron founder, born 1865 and Alice Frances, nee Butt, born 1865 Westbourne Park, London.

John Gomme 1890-? Emigrated to Canada. Returned in 1956 for a two month visit to Harrow, where his widowed mother and sister Dorothy were living.
