WEATHER
January 7th. Pumps frozen, unable to get water.
ILLNESS (TOOTHACHE, DEEP CUT, SCARLET FEVER)
February 6th. Frank Lacey and Harold Janes visited the dentist on Thursday and are unable to attend school today. May 19th. As the boys were coming to school, Fred Oakford was injured on his nose by a stone. As the cut was a deep one I thought it advisable to send him home. October 20th. John Rixon is ill with scarlet fever. November 22nd. A second case of scarlet fever, Louie Rixon.
DISTRACTIONS
January 12th. Several children absent having gone “wooding”. March 10th. Half-holiday given to enable many of the children to attend the War Memorial Service and tea at the chapel. September 27th. A number of children were absent to attend the fair at Wycombe.
EXTRA – CURRICULA
July 16th. Eleven boys left at playtime in the afternoon (2.15pm) in order to play a cricket match with the boys from Downley School.
REQUISITES
January 7th. Ordered half hundredweight coal.
NOTES
January 30th. I resign the headship of this school today. H.C. Avery. February 1st. I, Kate Floydd Gray, take charge of the school today. The staff now consists of Miss Kate .F. Gray, Miss Mabel R. Janes and Miss Ann E. Hawes.
