"Mr Fred Brooks, [[Overlea]], Loosley Row was, in his younger days, one of Lacey Green's best cricketers.  One always hears the argument in test, county and village cricket as to whether the old time cricketers were better than those of today.  Of course the game was different, but from all the stories I've heard, Fred was indeed one of the all time greats.
