Harold Janes born 1908 was the son of Leonard & Annie Janes of 3 Portobello Cottages, Lacey Green
Clara Eliza Williams born 1913 at Owlswick, was the daughter of Ebenezer & Rachel Williams. see Ebenezer & Rachel Williams
Harold and Clara lived at 'Homefield', The Bitfield, (later renamed Westlands Road), Lacey Green. The house was built about 1932.
Harold and Clara had 3 children, as follows :-
Ronald 'Ron; Leonard Janes born 1939 married Ann Goodchild of Princes Risborough in 1962.
Phyllis Lilian Janes born 1944. see Phyllis Matthews nee Janes
Keith William Janes born 1948 married Veronica Beecham in 1972. Keith worked at Promised Land Farm
Harold Janes born 1908 at first worked in a furniture factory but he left that to work for J Smith and Sons, road contractors at Naphill.
He was forced to leave that when the Welsh marched to Westminster to protest about lack of work and the Government compelled companies to give work to the men from Wales.
Bomber Command at Walters Ash had a stand-by generator plant (in a building which has subsequently been removed), and Harold got a new position in charge of the generators there.
