1901 census at Turnip End. Herbert Witney 31 commercial traveller, Alice 31,Herbert 8, Florence 5 born London, Edith 3 born Bradenham, Archibald 1 born Turnip End

1911 census at Woodway, Loosley Row. Herbert Witney 41 grocer, Alice 41, Herbert Owen 17 assisting in business, Edith 13 born Bradenham. Archibald 11 born Turnip End, Percy 8, Reginald 5, Constance Alice 9 months. note. Percy, Reginald and Constance Alice all born at Turnip End or Woodway, Loosley Row.

Researchers Note. Dennis Claydon had reported to me that there was a widely known story about how a man was caught for stealing a smoked ham from his premises
