When the 1914-18 war started Dudley's grandfather was conscripted and he came back at the end of the war with shell shock.  fter buying several cottages and little shops, he moved to Kimble.

Albert Stevens born 1876 in Stokenchurch was the son of ?

Gertrude Emma Hoare born 1877 came from Wales

Albert and Gertrude married in 1907 at Amersham.

1911 census. Station Road, Amersham. Albert Stevens 35 (born 1876) Road foreman for C.C., Gertrude 34 small drapery shop keeper, Albert Edgar 3 months.
