.Arthur Walter Ginger was born in 1891, the son of George & Clara Ginger and Clara nee Williams. He was the second of eight children. The family lived in a cottage at Idle Corner, Lacey Green.

Census. In 1911, Walter aged 20 is listed as an agricultural labourer.

Marriage

In 1912 Walter married Ruth Elizabeth Darvill, born 1891. They lived in a cottage at Idle Corner, Lacey Green. They had two children, as follows -----

Rosalind Sophia Ginger born 1913. Married 1936 Ernest Oakford, known as Hobbs Oakford.

Frederick Rupert Ginger born 1916. Married 1939 Marjorie Irene Austin of Lacey Green

DEATH

Arthur Walter Ginger was reported 'Killed in Action' in Flanders, France. on 29th September 1917, aged 26. He was a private in the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry, 5th battallion.

Cem. Bethleen Farm West Cem, Messen, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Grave D.22

£4-10s-4d was sent to his widow Ruth for his effects.
