1632 Stocken Farm Summary

This long document dated 14th April 1632 is held in the Hants Record Office. It details the assent of the letting of Stocking (Stocken) Farm to Henry Lacey.

It confirms that Laws made the Great Seal of Queen Elizabeth hold good throughout.

On 15th January 1578 Queen Elizabeth let the Manor of Princes Risborough to Thomas Cornwallis for 50 years. (ending 14th January 1628)

On October 9th Queen Anne reconfirmed this

1612 King James let the Manor of Princes Risborough to Henry Knollys Esq. for 21 years from the end of the former lease. (15th January 1628 to 14 January1649)

Henry Knollys and his wife by Indenture dated 1st December 1620 assined the said premises to William Inkett and whereas one messuage called Stocking and ten acres of land now or late in the occupation of Henry Lacey and one acre of meadow called Bedmeade with their appurtenances, part of the Manor of Princes Risborough already demised

William Inkett died

10th January of ? year of the reign of King Charles Elizabeth Inkett, widow and John Housey, Knight demised the messuage called Stockings and the ten acres of land and one acre of meadow and other things mentioned to Susan Biscowe for 35 years
