Local knowledge tells that they entertained many friends at weekend parties, to the extent that they needed extra accommodation for them. They either bought or rented “The Upper House”, sometimes called “The Other House”, in Loosley Row for this purpose.
In the 1950s the Upper House, sometimes called 'The Other House' ,was,the home of Kathleen and Lavender Challinor.
Later occupants were Mr and Mrs Hastings - the former well-known for walking his beautiful Red Setter dog around the village every day.
