Research Note by Laurence Rostron. In 1954 Lane Farm was auctioned in 3 lots. Lots 1 and 3 consisted of the house and a paddock. They were purchased by Roger Edward Thompson and the Rt. Hon. Robert William Evelyn Rockley on behalf of Col. Wilfred L and Mrs Abel Smith.
