Hilda Gomme born 1892 was the daughter of Kilburn & Julia Gomme. Hilda remained single and was a very well known postwoman.
In 1970 she was interviewed on BBC television daily 6 o'clock programme 'Newsround'
79 year old Hilda still walked her five to six mile round every day laden with a heavy postbag.
The picture shows Hilda returning back up the drive of Stocken Farm in Lacey Green.
