Here we have a lady who 'kept herself to herself' yet at the same time kept in touch with village life as it happened.

A member of the Dormer family, she married a Mr Alfred Janes who was killed in the first world war.

Later she married Mr Macro who was well known as he ran a milk round in the district. He later died leaving a young family, who over the years have been a great comfort and support to her.

I know she was very proud and pleased to attend the occasion of the weddings of Jo and Valerie, two of her grandchildren, on the occasion of their marriages at Lacey Green Methodist Church.
