William Floyd born 1824 was the son of Joseph & Jane Floyd

Sophia Hawes born 1824 was the daughter of John Hawes and his wife.

William and Sophia married in 1847 at Hillingdon

Lot 2. William Floyd of Lane Farm, Lacey Green purchased from John Redrup of Great Hampden, blacksmith: ---

The north end of the garden of Wimble End Cottage No 1.

Reseacher's Note. This site was opposite Lane Farm. On it was a building that had been a blacksmiths shop. William first used this as a barn then made it into a cottage. William's parents moved into the cottage and established a grocers' shop. The cottage/shop later became called "Green Hedges".

1851 Census. Lane Farm. Lacey Green. William Floyd 36, Sophia 36, Lucinda 7, Julia 3, Cora 1.

Before the 1861 Census William, Sophia and their family had moved away. They first went to Stokenchurch, then to Padbury and then again to Tingewick.

September 1862. William Floyd took out a mortgage from William and Harriet Day for "all that cottage with adjoining woodhouse, containing 14 poles" for £40.

In 1868 Sarah Jane Floyd, daughter of Joseph and Jane Floyd and sister of William Floyd married Jabez Dell.

1st October 1869. Conveyance. Jabez Dell, (William's brother-in-law), purchased the above land, cottage and garden from William Floyd, paying off the £40 mortgage, plus £8 interest due and £12 to William Floyd - a total of £60.
