1939 Register (census) Cedar Cottage Speen. Harold G Janes, born 1912 poultryman and gardener and Ivy E Janes born 1912.

December 6th. 1946  Vine Cottage. Harry Floyd of Floyds Farm sold Vine Cottage to Harold George Janes :- Conveyance. Consisting of a piece land having a frontage to the road of 103 feet together with the messuage erected thereon, (Vine Cottage). The Janes family called the house 'Cliveden', not Vine Cottage. They did not stay there long, as their son, Roger, had asthma and the house was very damp. (this document is archived in Lacey Green Village Hall)
