Weather

February 20^th. For three days the temperature has been too low for good work.

March 17^th. Heavy snowfall.

October 7^th. Very wet morning, only 52 out of 90 present.

November 12^th. Very wet, only 76 present.

Illness (Measles, Scarlet Fever)

March 17^th.  Beatrice Rogers and Edward Anderson have measles.  

April 7^th. 33 cases of measles, so closed for one month.  

June 20^th. Some children still absent through measles.  

July 9^th. Two fresh cases of measles.  

July 24^th. Reported a case of scarlet fever.  

September 22^nd. Reported two more cases of scarlet fever.  

October 22^nd. Edward Anderson returned after eight weeks off with scarlet fever

Distractions

February 5^th. Closed this afternoon to prepare for a concert this evening.  

May 26^th.Attendance low owing to a Sunday school treat at Loosley Row.  

July 9^th. The scholars were photographed this afternoon.  

September 19^th. For half an hour this morning I allowed the boys in the upper group to watch the army manoeuvres in the district.  

The school was closed in the afternoon owing to the soldiers being very near.  

September 22^nd. Attendance low owing to Wycombe Fair.

Extra Curricula

February 14^th. At 11.45 I assembled the children and spoke to them about the tragic end of Captain Scott and his four followers and read to the children his diary.   June 9^th. Boys had their first cricket practice this afternoon.  

June 11^th. Some of the children were taken to a missionary pageant at High Wycombe.  

June 20^th. A cricket match was played this afternoon with Speen.  

July 31^st. The following dimensions were found today during practical arithmetic:- Length of room, 40 feet.   Width of room 19 feet.   Classroom 20 feet by 14 feet.   August 7^th. The girls played a cricket match this afternoon.  

October 22^nd. Boys played a football match against Princes Risborough School.

Notes January 13^th. Heard from the vicar that there will be no scripture examination this year.  

February 20^th. Reported that the buckets in the girls’ lavatory were full to overflowing.  

November 12^th Medical Officer inspected the water supply and the lavatories.  

November 24^th. I enlisted today under the group system.  I was absent during the afternoon as I had to go to the recruiting office at Aylesbury.
